Managing Director, Melbourne CBD

Jimmy Yan leads our Melbourne CBD branch, holding the achievement of being Ironfish’s youngest Managing Director.

After joining Ironfish in 2009 as a Strategist, Jimmy spent the subsequent six years supporting his customers to build and enhance their portfolios, while also building a substantial property portfolio of his own.

Jimmy’s dedication, integrity and commitment to exceptional customer service led to his appointment as Managing Director of our Melbourne CBD branch in 2016.

His initial decision to join the Ironfish team was inspired by attending a workshop led by Ironfish CEO & Founder, Joseph Chou – a decision he describes as life-changing.

Prior to this meeting, Jimmy was largely working on a casual basis in a variety of small jobs. Attending the course and meeting Joseph gave him the clarity and focus he was looking for in pursuing a career and he is happy to have found his niche in property.

Jimmy attributes his achievements as an investor and in business to ‘possibility thinking’ – something that he learned from Joseph and the wider Ironfish team and culture. He hopes to inspire others to dream bigger alongside him and looks forward to supporting more people in achieving their goals.

Jimmy also enjoys leading and encouraging his team to exceed customer expectations. He believes that when people have continuing learning and development opportunities and feel genuinely valued and cared for within their team, then their work reflects this.

When Jimmy is not pursuing goals here at Ironfish, you can find him scoring them on the field. Jimmy is not only a highly accomplished soccer player, he is also the founder of Club Odyssey FC, Melbourne’s foremost Chinese soccer club.
