In its purest form, when we choose to create an infinite mindset, we are choosing happiness. And if you look at the different effects the finite and infinite way of thinking has on our everyday lives, it makes a lot of sense as to why you would want to develop your own infinite mindset.

A finite mindset sees and focuses on scarcity. But if you adopt this belief, you will be living in a constant state of panic and fear, which in turn, will lead to poor decision making or reactive behaviour. Unfortunately, this mindset is constantly fuelled by fear-based headlines in the media, which only serves to heighten hysteria.

The infinite mindset views these headlines as nothing more than a short-term blip on the long-term radar, knowing there is plenty for everyone and ‘this too shall pass’.

The finite mindset says, somewhat begrudgingly: I HAVE to do this.

The infinite mindset says with excitement and optimism: I GET to do this!

The finite mindset holds onto sorrow.

The infinite mindset acknowledges loss and sorrow, but equally embraces joy and opportunity.

The finite mindset demands that you are richer than others, get promoted more quickly than others, have a bigger house than others…in other words, you’re always looking to win.

The infinite mindset chooses to nurture relationships with others, be part of something greater than themselves and be always thankful for where they are in life.

I can say from personal experience, it’s a much more rewarding, happier state of mind in which to live.
