Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan report card released

The Australian and NSW governments released the first Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan report card on the first three months of major work undertaken as part of the $3.6 billion package.

Major projects already under construction include the $509 million Bringelly Road upgrade and the $70 million Werrington Arterial Road upgrade. The new airport at Badgerys Creek is also part of the plan.

The multi-million dollar plan will create over 4,000 jobs for the western Sydney community, develop better roads for motorists and promote economic growth.

The report card updates the community on the progress of each project and includes detailed maps, construction start and end dates, major project milestones and upcoming projects.

Information on public consultation areas such as the environment, health and safety and employment are also included.

Future plans for western Sydney

To keep western Sydney moving towards the future, students will have access to a state-of-the art transport, engineering and technology centre at the TAFE South Western Sydney Institute in Wetherill Park.

The centre will be the largest training facility of its kind in Sydney and boost training and career opportunities for the South Western Sydney region and beyond.

The technology centre will open in 2016 and offer students course options including light vehicle technology, plant mechanics, automotive electrical technology, speciality automotive courses and engineering technology courses.
