Read your way to life-changing wealth
I’ve been very honest and open about how reading has completely changed my life and continues to do so every single day. One book I believe is one of the best you’ll ever read is “The Science of Getting Rich – How to make money and get the life you want”, by Wallace D Wattles.
The book tells us that there’s a certain way for actually achieving things you desire and is virtually a textbook guide to the scientific process of learning to do things in a particular way in order to acquire riches.
This little gem of a read also talks about the power of thought and how the way you think can lead to great success, which is something I am very passionate about.
It also teaches us to be grateful for all the things we have already – a beautiful sentiment indeed. Two other important things the book teaches us are Becoming a Creator rather than a Competitor, and Abundance.
Other books I highly recommend are:
“Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert T Kiyosaki
The central message of the book revolves around the importance of financial education and the need to break free from the cycle of working for money, as opposed to having money work for you. Kiyosaki advocates for financial literacy, teaching readers about assets and liabilities, the importance of entrepreneurship, and investing wisely to achieve financial independence. It also explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.
“The Richest Man in Babylon” by George Samuel Clason
Countless readers have been helped by the famous “Babylonian parables,” hailed as the greatest of all inspirational works on the subject of thrift, financial planning, and personal wealth. These fascinating and informative stories set you on a sure path to prosperity and its accompanying joys. Acclaimed as a modern-day classic, this celebrated bestseller offers an understanding of-and a solution to-your personal financial problems that will guide you through a lifetime.
Surround yourself with the right people
When you’re looking at the year ahead, take a moment to think about your existing friendship groups. So often we allow ourselves to just go along to get along, and never really consider whether or not the people we’re surrounding ourselves with may be affecting us in a negative way. This is a very personal topic and I’m not suggesting you disassociate yourself from people you may have known for years. But consider expanding your network, make new friends or become acquainted with people who lift you up, motivate you and challenge you to be your best self.
Every time I get stuck in my career and business, I find new friends. They bring new ideas and new opportunities to me which helps me achieve breakthrough results.
Finding a mentor is an excellent place to start. Seek out people who are already getting the results you want.
As Tony Robbins says, “When you actively choose to surround yourself with people who make you happy and who share your ambitions, it elevates the standard of what you will or won’t tolerate in your business and your life. Your goals and dreams are worth it – once you believe that, you’ll be unstoppable.”
