Webinar: Chief Economist Dr Andrew Wilson discusses Covid-19 & property

Earlier this week, Ironfish hosted a live webinar: “Covid-19: Property Market Update” featuring guest keynote speaker: Dr Andrew Wilson along with Ironfish’s own Head of Property, William Mitchell.

Dr Wilson is a highly prominent, independent property economist and academic, who was the former Chief Economist of the Domain Group and as a consultant now advises both public and private sectors.

In his keynote presentation, Dr Wilson provided in-depth analysis on how the Covid-19 pandemic would likely affect the Australian residential property market.

The live national webinar attracted hundreds of investors, with overwhelmingly positive feedback and engagement, stating the information provided greater clarity and understanding around what can be expected in the property markets in the short to medium term.

The presentation first covered all the underlying fundamentals of each major city market, with detailed data and insights on population, employment, economy, supply and demand as well as the rental market – pre-Covid-19.

From there, Dr Wilson reviewed the impact of this ‘Black Swan’ event and provided some analysis and research to support expected trends moving forward.
